Thomas & Friends: All Engines Go! is an American/Canadian produced reboot of Thomas & Friends that was first released in 2021. It was initially released in the US on September 13th 2021 on Cartoon Network, and later on Netflix on October 29th 2021.
Production
On the 12th of October in 2020, Businesswire confirmed that the series would be animated in 2-D by Nelvana Studio's, the premise of the show will involve Thomas, as the lead character for every episode, dealing with hard-to-talk about issues prevalent to preschoolers, in his own point of view. Additionally, it was confirmed that the show had been Green-lit for 104 episodes total, across two-seasons, in addition to two specials. All of the episodes will be eleven-minutes in length, except for the specials, which will be one-hour long, each. On January 27th 2021, a trailer was released for the series, that confirmed the appearances of Percy, Emily, Nia, Diesel, & Carly. The trailer additionally confirmed that two new characters, not based off of any prior incarnations would be introduced, these being Kana and Sandy. The end of the trailer featured a scheduled release date of October 2021. Kidscreen confirmed on February 5th 2021 that Cartoon Network had picked up the show for Cable-Television in the US. The show aired for the very first time on August 23rd 2021, as a Spanish-Dub on the Mexican TV Channel Canal 5. The show later aired for the first time in the US on September 13th 2021, as part of Cartoon-Network's new Cartoonito weekday mornings block. The show began airing on Canadian TV on September 18th 2021, and is currently scheduled to be released on Netflix in the US on October 29th 2021, and on Milkshake! in the UK on November 8th 2021.
